Guido Donegani, (Livorno, Italy, 26 March 1877 – Bordighera, Italy, 16 April 1947), an engineer from Torino Polytechnic, 1901, Senator of the Kingdom of Italy in 1943. He was the President for many years, since 1918, after starting his work in 1910 with the Administrator of the Italian chemical industrial giant Montecatini Val di Cecina, founded in 1887.
He was heavily involved with the national and international politics of the Kingdom of Italy and Italian Social Republic by the manufacturing of ammonia at their Novara Labs.
He was involved also with the mining of Sicilian sulphur, for manufacturing sulphuric acid.
War transactions and the import of other commodities as gasoline and tabacs lead in due time to the consequent deals with the Italo-American maffia.
After the 1945 Italian defeat and the Allied troops occupation, he was judged twice by the Allied Commanders and acquitted and finally exposed in some Italian newspapers as a collaborator of Fascism as other people, being also acquitted.
He was replaced in 1946, by Carlo Faina. In 1966 the Montecatini Edison Company was amalgamated by Italian politicians.
